Calvin Johnson returned to practice on Thursday, fantasy start never in question
Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson is back at practice. We break down the fantasy implications.
Fantasy impact: It’s been an incredibly subpar season for Johnson and the Lions this year. He has just a single 100-yard receiving game to his name in 2015. That’s hard to fathom considering he’s the type of player that can easily climb over 1,600 yards over the course of 16-game schedule, like he’s done multiple times in the past.
As disappointing as it is, though, it’s not all Megatron’s fault. Quarterback Matthew Stafford has had an awful year and the team itself has just a 2-7 record going into this week’s contest against the Oakland Raiders.
Fantasy owners certainly have every right to be disappointed in Johnson’s numbers at the moment, but the good news is the Oakland Raiders are very generous to wide receivers. Remember, they gave up nearly 300 receiving yards to the Pittsburgh Steelers’ Antonio Brown just two weeks ago. Johnson is a safe bet in fantasy lineups this week.
