New York Giants running back Orleans Darkwa suffered a back injury that forced his early exit during Sunday's 52-49 loss to the New Orleans Saints.
Orleans Darkwa ‘will be fine’ after back injury, per report, fantasy value remains unclear
After getting a touchdown and averaging 6.0 yards per carry in Week 7, Orleans Darkwa was quiet in Week 8 due to a back injury. We break down the fantasy implications.

But according to NJ.com’s Jordan Raanan, Darkwa said “he’d be fine,“ although he had difficulty lifting his bag after the game. Darkwa played just 10 snaps on Sunday after being stuffed on a goal-line attempt that bounced him from action in the second quarter.
Fantasy impact: It’s difficult to conclude anything about Darkwa’s role in the Giants offense after just 10 snaps, as well as the team seeming committed to using four different running backs. Darkwa getting consecutive cracks at goal-line opportunities is encouraging, but there still isn’t enough evidence to suggest he has unseated his backfield counterparts for the bulk of the carries.
Fantasy owners will have to monitor Darkwa's practice reports this week to see if he is over his back injury. If he is, he would remain a high-risk, high-reward flex option against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 9.
