The Pittsburgh Steelers signed running back Isaiah Pead in the wake of losing Le'Veon Bell for the season to an MCL tear.
Pittsburgh Steelers sign Isaiah Pead, but he remains off the fantasy radar
The Steelers added depth at running back with a former top-50 draft pick. We break down the fantasy implications.

Pead was drafted No. 50 overall by the St. Louis Rams in 2012 but could never garner significant playing time under Jeff Fisher's regime, and he faced an uphill climb after tearing his ACL in 2014. Pead's tenure with the Rams ultimately ended after Todd Gurley worked his way back to full strength following an ACL tear of his own.
Fantasy impact: Pead's signing is a necessary one if the Steelers are planning to give the bulk of their backfield snaps to 32-year-old DeAngelo Williams, who, despite his revitalization, would need other backs to spell him and keep him fresh down the stretch of the season.
Pead doesn't immediately project to be a main contributor in the Steelers' backfield with Jordan Todman and Dri Archer also in the mix. As a result, he can be left in the waiver pools of fantasy leagues of all formats.
