Dallas Cowboys running back Darren McFadden returned to practice on Friday, according to Brandon George of The Dallas Morning News.
Darren McFadden practices Friday, presents massive fantasy upside in Week 11
Despite being limited with a groin injury on Thursday, Darren McFadden practiced on Friday with the Cowboys. We break down the fantasy implications.
McFaddens’ participation is noteworthy because he practiced at just a limited basis on Thursday due to a groin injury. However, it appears the Cowboys were just managing the reps of a veteran running back who has been thrust into a high-volume workload.
With Christine Michael now out of the equation, McFadden should see a big workload once again with only Rod Smith and newly acquired Robert Turbin backing him up.
Fantasy impact: With McFadden at less than 100 percent, and with a dearth of options behind him on the depth chart, it's conceivable that the Cowboys offense skews back to airing it out now that Tony Romo is back under center.
Even in that event, McFadden should benefit from a high-scoring offense even if the volume he’s been getting isn’t what it has been in past weeks.
Fantasy owners shouldn't have any hesitation starting McFadden against a Dolphins defense that has allowed the second-most fantasy points per game to opposing running backs this season. He is in RB1 territory once again.
