Chicago Bears wide receiver Alshon Jeffery missed practice on Friday, according to the Chicago Tribune's Rich Campbell.
Alshon Jeffery sits second straight practice, fantasy owners need backup plans
The Bears’ No. 1 wideout is in danger of missing another game on Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.
Jeffery was limited on Wednesday, but hasn't returned to practice since. The Bears limited Jeffery to just 54 percent (35 of 65) of the team's snaps in Week 10's blowout victory over the St. Louis Rams, and it's clear that his groin and shoulder injuries are not allowing him to take the field at his usual capacity. If Jeffery doesn't take the field, Marquess Wilson is expected to slide into a starting role.
Fantasy impact: It's not looking promising for a Bears team that is set to take the field against one of the NFL's top defenses in the Denver Broncos, especially with Jeffery and Matt Forte slated to be game-time decisions. Jeffery was clearly not 100 percent in Week 10's win, and his lack of practicing doesn't indicate that he's over the hump yet.
It’s been a frustrating season for Jeffery’s owners, since he has been a fantasy beast when healthy, but unfortunately that window has been very small. Owners would be wise to deploy a backup option for Week 11 since Jeffery is not himself and faces an imposing Broncos defense.
