Atlanta Falcons running back Devonta Freeman is not practicing Wednesday, according to Mike Garafolo of Fox Sports.
Devonta Freeman still in concussion protocol, fantasy owners need backups ready
The Falcons’ starting running back’s status is up in the air for Week 12. We break down the fantasy implications.

Freeman was forced to an early exit during Week 11's loss to the Indianapolis Colts after sustaining a concussion. Head coach Dan Quinn noted Wednesday that Freeman remains in the first phase of the NFL's concussion protocol, according to Garafolo's report. Tevin Coleman would start in Freeman's place if he is not cleared in time for Sunday's game against the Vikings.
Fantasy impact: Though Freeman’s absence from practice doesn’t doom his Week 12 status, fantasy owners cannot feel optimistic about his chances of suiting up. It’s unwelcome news for fantasy owners, since they’ve been fortunate enough to latch onto a running back who has caught fire since getting starting duties assigned to him in Week 3.
Fantasy owners will have to monitor practice reports in the meantime, but backup options must be at the ready. Freeman is a no-brainer RB1 if he suits up, but Coleman is in RB2/flex territory.
