New York Giants tight end Larry Donnell will play in the team’s Week 12 game against Washington thanks to a neck injury, according to beat writer Ralph Vacchiano. Donnell hasn’t played a snap since going down in Week 8.
Larry Donnell ruled out this week, fantasy season could be over
New York Giants tight end Larry Donnell didn’t exactly get good news from a recent MRI result. We break down the fantasy implications.

Fantasy impact: It appears that Donnell’s season may be over completely. A neck injury isn’t something to mess around with, so it may indeed be best for him to sit out. That decision hasn’t been made yet, however.
For what it’s worth, Donnell was only worth rostering in deep fantasy leagues where filling a hole in the lineup was an absolute necessity. He burst onto the scene last year and produce some steady numbers, but he’s no longer a focal point of the Giants’ passing game.
Teammate Will Tye will continue to fill in for Donnell. Tye has 15 catches for 152 yards in seven games this season. He’s generally not getting enough action in the offense to warrant an immediate roster spot, but he did see seven targets last week which makes him worth keeping an eye on. For now fantasy owners can look elsewhere for a tight end.
