San Diego Chargers wide receiver Malcom Floyd is listed as probable heading into the team’s Week 12 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to beat writer Michael Gehlken. Floyd saw one target in Week 9 prior to being knocked out with the injury.
Malcom Floyd is ready to play, back on the fantasy map
The San Diego Chargers wide receiver is ready to play again despite a torn labrum. We break down the fantasy implications.
Fantasy impact: The list of San Diego Chargers pass catchers who have missed time this season is a long one. It includes Keenan Allen, Antonio Gates, Ladarius Green, Stevie Johnson and, of course, Floyd.
Those injuries partially explain why quarterback Philip Rivers and the rest of the team have been so bad this year. Football is full of injuries but what has happened in San Diego this season is just unfair. It remains to be seen how effective Floyd can be given he’s just three weeks removed from a torn labrum, an injury that normally keeps a player out much longer.
Fantasy owners in deeper leagues can go ahead and add Floyd for a week or two and see how he responds before the fantasy postseason begins. That said, it may not be wise to start him against the Jaguars unless you are an owner that’s in absolute desperation mode.
