Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Vincent Jackson is not practicing on Thursday, according to Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times.
Vincent Jackson sits Thursday’s practice, remains on fantasy benches
The Buccaneers’ veteran receiver continues to be sidelined due to a knee injury. We break down the fantasy implications.
Jackson left during the Bucs’ Week 7 loss to Washington due to a knee injury and has not returned to action since. He was listed as doubtful in Week 8, and his absence from practice so far suggests that there isn’t a high probability of him making his return to the field in Week 9.
Fantasy impact: The Buccaneers are desperate for someone to pick up the slack in the receiving game behind Mike Evans, as both Jackson and tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins have missed time due to injury. It leaves a barren depth chart behind Evans, consisting of Donteea Dye and Adam Humphries.
Neither of Jackson’s replacements at wideout are suggested starts in leagues of any format despite six teams on bye for Week 9. If Jackson returns to practice on Friday, it will greatly enhance his odds of suiting up, but there hasn’t been encouraging evidence he will do so yet. If he does, he will reenter the WR3 conversation.
