Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant was limited in practice on Thursday according to beat writer Brandon George. Bryant caught just two passes for 12 yards in his first game back from injury against the Seattle Seahawks last week.
Dez Bryant limited in Thursday’s practice, fantasy value still on the mend
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant is taking it easy in practice to give his surgically repaired foot a break. We break down the fantasy implications.
Fantasy impact: Bryant is going to need some time to get back to providing fantasy owners with the big numbers they are used to seeing from him. It’s not all his fault of course. The Cowboys are currently starting Matt Cassel at quarterback.
Tony Romo is still a few weeks away from coming back to the lineup as he continues to make his way back from a broken clavicle. Until Romo is under center, Bryant will be hard-pressed to make an impact for the Cowboys. If there’s any good news in the present moment it’s that no one else on the Cowboys really stepped up offensively while Bryant was out, so his spot as the top gun in Dallas isn’t in any danger.
Fantasy owners can go ahead and start Byant against the Philadelphia Eagles, given that the Eagles aren’t the best defensively. That said, his ceiling will be limited as long as the team’s No. 1 quarterback is out.
