Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans revealed on the Buccaneers Radio Network's Total Access, that he suffered injuries to his groin and his oblique in Week 8 while attempting to catch a pass.
Mike Evans injured groin, oblique during Week 8, should be fine in Week 9 for Buccaneers, fantasy owners
The Buccaneers’ No. 1 receiver revealed two injuries during a radio segment on Thursday. We break down the fantasy implications.
Evans is not on the injury report, suggesting that these injuries are not a threat to his status for Sunday's game against the New York Giants.
The Buccaneers are paper-thin at the receiver position with Vincent Jackson dealing with a knee injury, and tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins has missed the past seven weeks with a shoulder injury.

“My groin, if I wouldn’t have dropped the pass I wouldn’t have hurt my groin,” Evans said. “Yeah, I dropped the pass and I turned before I secured the ball. And then the guy pushed me, and I tried to stop myself and it like tweaked up a little bit on me.”
Evans also added that he injured his oblique muscles extending for a catch against Atlanta. “It felt kind of like my ribs were broken,” Evans said, but the sharp pain steadily subsided.
Fantasy impact: This will be something to monitor going forward, but it doesn’t appear as if Evans is in any danger of missing immediate games.
Evans missed action in the beginning of the season due to a hamstring injury he suffered during Week 2 of the preseason, but the Buccaneers appear set on not having to trot out Donteea Dye and Adam Humphries as their starting receiver.
Despite a disappointing outing in Week 8, Evans remains firmly in the WR1 conversation for Week 9 and should be a target monster once again.
