Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Vincent Jackson did not practice Friday, according to ESPN's Andrew Astleford. Jackson has now missed six consecutive practices and was listed as doubtful in preparation for Week 8 with a knee injury.
Vincent Jackson doesn’t practice Friday, fantasy owners will need backup plans once again
The Buccaneers’ veteran wideout missed practice for the second straight week. We break down the fantasy implications.
Being unable to practice the ensuing week does not bode well for his status, and it is likely that the Buccaneers will be without their veteran receiver for a second consecutive week.
Jackson exited Week 7’s loss against Washington and hasn’t returned since.
Fantasy impact: It appears the Buccaneers will go with Mike Evans and Donteea Dye as their starting receivers, but could be getting Austin Seferian-Jenkins back into action to assist in the passing game.
For now, Jackson’s owners will have to take a “wait and see” approach before considering him as a fantasy option, but should remain stashed in leagues of all formats. Jackson deserves consideration as a WR3 upon his return, but no word has been received as to when that would be.
Expect Evans to soak up targets once again in his absence, with Charles Sims and Seferian-Jenkins acting as complementary roles, if the second-year tight end takes the field.
