Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Allen Robinson continues to put up WR1 numbers in fantasy leagues, although a difficult matchup presents itself on Sunday.
Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 9: Allen Robinson
The Jaguars’ leading receiver could be taking a trip to Revis Island on Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.
Though the New York Jets defense was soundly defeated by Derek Carr and the Oakland Raiders on Sunday, Darrelle Revis remains one of the premier cornerbacks in the NFL, and will likely have his attention drawn by Robinson. If Revis happens to shadow Robinson for the duration of the game, his upside could be down from his usually robust game-to-game totals.
Fantasy impact: Allen Hurns may get a few extra looks on Sunday if Robinson takes a trip to Revis Island, which is similar to what happened with Michael Crabtree and Amari Cooper during Week 8's victory. Cooper was held to just 46 yards, while Crabtree, the usual No. 2 receiver, exploded for 102 yards and a touchdown.
Though Robinson is likely to draw Revis in coverage, it still isn’t enough to warrant benching him. Robinson is talented enough to capitalize, although fantasy owners should temper their expectations somewhat amid a difficult matchup. Robinson remains a high-upside WR2 for Week 9, but the possibility remains for him to be kept in check.
