Denver Broncos running back C.J. Anderson has been the poster child for fantasy football disappointment in 2015, sputtering out of the gate and eventually losing significant snaps to backup Ronnie Hillman.
Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 9: C.J. Anderson
The Broncos got a much-needed contribution in Week 8 from C.J. Anderson. We break down the fantasy implications.
However, coming off a Week 7 bye, Anderson displayed the burst that reminded his fantasy owners of a dominant 2014 stretch when he scored eight touchdowns over the season’s final six games. It appears the bye week is what Anderson needed to shake off the remaining effects of an ankle injury suffered in Week 1, leaving many to wonder if he has indeed turned a corner after such a slow start to the season.
Fantasy impact: Anderson’s performance should provide plenty of reason for optimism, but Ronnie Hillman isn’t going anywhere. Although Anderson led the Broncos in rushing yards, Hillman out-carried him 19-14 and got first crack at goal line opportunities while scoring two touchdowns to Anderson’s one.
Hillman appears to be in the mix for the foreseeable future, but Anderson proved that he can do some damage on limited carries. While he isn't the RB1 many envisioned him to be, Anderson still provides value as a flex option in Week 9 against the sieve-like front seven of the Indianapolis Colts.
