Whether it’s due to injuries or bye weeks, the fantasy football landscape has shifted drastically for Week 9, leaving fantasy owners starting unconventional options in their lineups.
Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 9: Antonio Andrews
The Titans’ offense could look different with Mike Mularkey at the helm instead of Ken Whisenhunt. We break down the fantasy implications.
One such option that has come up frequently in advance of Sunday's games is Antonio Andrews. The Tennessee Titans appear to be clearing house, as head coach Ken Whisenhunt was shown the door and will be replaced by interim coach Mike Mularkey. Whisenhunt had a penchant for using a committee backfield, but Mularkey has other ideas.
Fantasy impact: According to Terry McCormick of TitanInsider.com, Mularkey stated that Andrews will be the team's workhorse at running back, suggesting he will get early-down and goal line work. The New Orleans Saints are allowing the ninth-most fantasy points per game to opposing running backs, but the game script could dictate that the Titans have to abandon the run against a Saints team that has a potent offense.
The volume for Andrews is encouraging for the rest of the season, but for Week 9 he doesn’t bring much to lineups other than being a long-shot flex option in standard leagues.
