Houston Texans wide receiver Cecil Shorts resumed practicing with the team on Monday, according to Texans Radio's Deepi Sidhu.
Cecil Shorts practicing Monday, fantasy value trending upward
The Texans’ slot receiver is making strides to return to the field in Week 10. We break down the fantasy implications.

Shorts used the bye week to get back into playing shape, as the Texans' slot man missed the last two games with a hamstring injury. During that span, Nate Washington emerged and accounted for 201 yards and three touchdowns to complement DeAndre Hopkins. It's not a given that Shorts will play more snaps than Washington, but he figures to be on the field in three-wide sets as the slot receiver on Sunday.
Fantasy impact: Shorts may not be the waiver option that fantasy owners are hoping for, but his presence has fantasy implications for Washington, who could see his workload cut into. Washington's gaudy totals over the past two games aren't typical for him, and he could see a regression to the mean against a challenging Cincinnati Bengals defense, especially with Shorts back in the fold.
Shorts’ matchup doesn’t suggest he should get starting consideration in 12- or 10-team leagues, and Washington projects to be a low-end flex play despite his recent success. Hopkins remains a consensus top-five option.
