Dallas Cowboys running back Joseph Randle is in a running back by committee situation alongside teammates Darren McFadden and Lance Dunbar, according to Charean Williams of The Fort-Worth Star Telegram. Randle managed 55 touches for 366 yards from scrimmage, to go with three rushing touchdowns last season.
Joseph Randle will lead apparent Cowboys’ committee, fantasy value may be limited
Dallas Cowboys running back Joseph Randle finds himself in the middle of a three-headed monster. We break down the fantasy implications.
Fantasy Impact: While it is widely believed that Randle is one of the top candidates for a breakout fantasy season heading into the 2015 campaign, it looks like the Cowboys aren’t necessarily in a rush to thrust him into the kind of workhorse role they gave ex-Cowboy DeMarco Murray last year.
That said, McFadden and Dunbar managed just two total touchdowns combined last year and neither back is a threat to Randle’s feature role in general. The main point is just Randle may have to share some touches, particularly early in the season as he proves himself to be a reliable top-end rusher.
Fantasy owners should still draft Randle with high expectations, but perhaps with curbed enthusiasm.
