Kelvin Benjamin leaves practice with knee injury, fantasy status uncertain
Kelvin Benjamin, the Carolina Panthers top wide receiver, was carted off the field at practice on Wednesday following a knee injury. We break down the fantasy implications.

Fantasy Impact: Watching a star player get carted off the field is never a good sign, so while coach Ron Rivera generally looks at the positive when it comes to player injuries, only time will tell how bad Benjamin’s injury really is.
During his rookie season last year, Benjamin showed he was clearly better than the rest of the Panthers’ wide receivers, catching 73 passes for 1,008 yards and nine touchdowns. The team certainly sees potential in draft pick David Fuchness and benefits from the sure hands of veteran tight end Greg Olsen. However, losing Benjamin for any length of time would be a significant blow to Carolina’s offense.
Although a knee injury suffered by a star player is always worrisome, fantasy owners shouldn’t rush to panic until the results of Benjamin’s MRI are revealed.
