Oakland Raiders wide receiver Andre Holmes suffered a fractured hand while practicing on Sunday and is expected to miss three-to-four weeks, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Holmes finished with 49 catches for 693 and four touchdowns last season.
Andre Holmes out with broken hand, fantasy status for Week 1 in question
Raiders wide receiver Andre Holmes broke his hand in practice on Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.

Fantasy Impact: With Michael Crabtree, first-round draft pick Amari Cooper, Rod Streater, Kenbrell Thompkins and Brice Butler all in the fold at the receiver position in Oakland, Holmes’ Week 1 status is now up in the air. He has a single catch on 18 snaps to this point in the preseason, and he’s being outplayed by the aforementioned pass catchers.
Holmes was able to crack some fantasy lineups in deeper leagues last season as a fill-in, but his chances of garnering any kind of clout among fantasy owners is slim in 2015. Especially with a second-year quarterback running the show and lots of competition for receptions up and down the lineup.
Fantasy owners weren’t likely to draft Holmes out of the gate and his broken hand cements his status as a player who may only see occasional fantasy action coming off of the waiver wire.
