Fantasy Impact: The fact Gordon will be able to play in Saturday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals is good news considering he only managed 11 yards on eight carries in his preseason debut.
That’s a shaky start to a career to say the least. That said, Gordon is a first-round pick with tons of potential and a clear path to a feature role now that Ryan Mathews has moved on to the Philadelphia Eagles. Gordon should be able to improve on his 1.8 yards per carry average going into his second preseason game and be primed and ready for Week 1. Fantasy owners can go ahead and draft him as a number one option at the running back slot, especially those looking for more of an upside play.
