Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans will sit out the last game of the preseason in order to rest his hamstring injury, according to Rick Stroud of The Tampa Bay Times. Evans posted strong numbers as a rookie last year, catching 68 passes for 1,051 yards and 12 touchdowns.
Mike Evans will sit out preseason finale, fantasy regular season not in any danger
Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans will sit out the team’s last preseason game. We break down the fantasy implications.

Fantasy Impact: Evans’ injury is believed to be minor and he’s not expected to miss any time in the regular season. The fact that he won’t be playing during the rest of the preseason, however, means he won’t get added time to build chemistry with rookie quarterback Jameis Winston.
Fantasy owners may be inclined to give Evans a bit of a lower ranking on their list of wide receivers in the draft because of his hamstring issue, which, although minor, can definitely be nagging. That said, even with an ailment and a rookie at quarterback, owners should keep in mind that his size and athleticism are a rare breed in the NFL.
Evans also proved last year he can be a top-notch wide receiver no matter who is throwing the ball, as he demonstrated while catching passes from Mike Glennon and Josh McCown. Owners should expect Evans to be at full speed for the first week of the regular season.
