Alshon Jeffery limited at Thursday practice, fantasy owners playing ‘wait and see’
The Bears’ No. 1 receiver practiced again on Thursday, albeit in a limited capacity. We break down the fantasy implications.
Jeffery also practiced on Wednesday after missing time due to a hamstring injury. Ambiguity still remains regarding Jeffery's status for Sunday, but the fact that he returned to the practice field even at a limited capacity is a positive sign. Expect him to man his usual post in the Bears offense for Week 1 versus the division rival Green Bay Packers.
Fantasy Spin: “Mum” has been the word surrounding Jeffery’s status, but it’s likely that the Bears will do everything possible to get their stud wide receiver onto the field versus their most formidable division rival. Fantasy owners can keep Jeffery penned into their lineups at the usual WR slot, but will have to closely monitor injury reports in the meantime.
A decision won’t likely be known until actives and inactives are announced at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, but for now, Jeffery appears to be safe based on reading between the lines.
