Onlookers wondered how the New England Patriots would alter their game plan in the wake of LeGarrette Blount's suspension, and the answer came in the form of Dion Lewis on Thursday night.
Dion Lewis bursts into fantasy relevance with 120 yards vs. Steelers
The Patriots’ scatback danced around defenders en route to a productive debut with his new team. We break down the fantasy implications.

Lewis led the backfield with 120 total yards, resulting from 69 yards on 15 carries while adding 51 yards on four catches. Brandon Bolden and James White were mixed in as well, but Lewis played an overwhelming 46-of-61 snaps while routinely making Pittsburgh Steelers defenders miss. Lewis nearly cashed in on a touchdown reception, but fumbled the ball just shy of the goal line.
Fantasy Spin: Lewis appears destined for the Shane Vereen-Danny Woodhead-Kevin Faulk role in Bill Belichick's offense, though production won't likely be on par with his Week 1 performance upon Blount's return. It's also worth mention that Lewis' slight frame won't likely have him in line for goal-line carries, and his fumble near the end zone provided Exhibit A. Without Blount, the Patriots' goal-line back appears to be "fade routes to Rob Gronkowski."
Lewis makes for a fine flex option in PPR leagues, and remains on the radar for Week 2 versus the Buffalo Bills' ferocious front seven. Even in standard formats, Lewis is worth an add off the waiver wire.
