New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz has been ruled out for the team's season opener against the Dallas Cowboys.
Victor Cruz ruled out Week 1 for Giants, fantasy owners
The Giants will have to make due without their slot receiver once again, as the 2015 season opens. We break down the fantasy implications.

In addition to recovering from a PCL tear in 2014, Cruz has also dealt with a calf injury that has kept him out of action during the summer. ESPN’s Dan Graziano had reported earlier that if Cruz did not practice on Thursday that he would be surprised if Cruz returns before Week 4. A four-game absence remains to be announced, but Week 1 is definitely no longer in the cards for the Giants’ slot man.
Fantasy Spin: It’s getting harder and harder to justify a roster spot for Cruz in 12-team leagues, due to his health. Compounding that even further is the chance that Cruz can’t reclaim his form, or even a sliver of that effectiveness going forward after such a devastating injury.
Rueben Randle and Larry Donnell can expect an uptick in targets for Week 1, and Cruz remains a nonfactor in leagues across the board.
