After an injury scare during the team's third preseason game, Green Bay Packers wide receiver Randall Cobb will take the field for Week 1 vs. the Chicago Bears.
Randall Cobb injury update: WR listed as probable for Packers, fantasy owners
Though the Packers won’t have Jordy Nelson catching passes from Aaron Rodgers this season, Randall Cobb is ready to go. We break down the fantasy implications.
Cobb is recovering from a sprained AC joint that was feared to have been a broken collarbone, and though he does not yet have his full range of motion, he will be involved in the Packers’ game plan. Officially, Cobb is listed as probable on the injury report, but proclaimed on Thursday that he would play.
Fantasy Spin: As long as Cobb is on the field, he is worth a start, even at limited capacity. Fantasy owners who drafted him knew about his injury before selecting him, so it’s fair to assume that they are comfortable with putting him in their lineups at less than 100 percent.
Cobb remains a WR1 with considerable upside versus a vulnerable Bears defense, but the possibility remains that the Packers rest their star receiver if they jump out to an early, insurmountable lead.
