Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is officially listed as probable on the team's injury report.
Travis Kelce injury update: Chiefs TE a full go at practice, will start for fantasy owners
Despite a sprained ankle suffered on August 31, Travis Kelce won’t be deterred from opening weekend. We break down the fantasy implications.
Kelce sprained his ankle during practice on Aug. 31, but it was never believed to be serious. It was not of the lingering "high-ankle" variety, and the talented tight end will be ready to go for the Chief's Week 1 matchup with the Houston Texans.
Fantasy Spin: It’s easy to understand why owners would freak out about an ankle injury to one of the few fantasy-relevant tight ends in the NFL, but they can be put at ease now. Kelce practiced fully in all three sessions and can be started with confidence as he resumes his usual workload.
The Texans were one of the stingiest defenses versus tight ends in 2014, so while the matchup isn’t a good one, Kelce deserves starting consideration in leagues of all formats.
