Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans is listed as questionable on the team's injury report, and is a likely game-time decision.
Mike Evans injury update: WR likely a game-time call for Buccaneers, fantasy owners
The Buccaneers may start their season without their No. 1 wide receiver due to a hamstring injury. We break down the fantasy implications.
Evans had been relegated to the sidelines ever since injuring his hamstring in Week 2 of the preseason, until returning to practice at a limited capacity on Friday. Speaking afterward, head coach Lovie Smith noted that Evans “looked good,“ per The Tampa Tribune’s Roy Cummings.
Fantasy Spin: It's a good sign that Evans took the practice field at some capacity, although his status is up in the air for Sunday's opener. Should he take the field, his upside is far too great to ignore versus a depleted Tennessee Titans secondary, and deserves starting consideration.
Fantasy owners would be wise to have some backup options ready in case of Evans' absence, but in the meantime they can have him occupy their flex spots due to his game's late 4:25 p.m. start time. Should Evans sit, Vincent Jackson would be upgraded significantly.
