This declaration comes on the heels of a report by CBS' Jason LaCanfora on Sunday that stated Foster had been telling his teammates that a Week 2 return was possible, sparking a prediction from LaCanfora that a Week 3 return would be the worst-case scenario. Nothing has been set in stone yet regarding Foster's status, but it appears that Alfred Blue, Chris Polk and Jonathan Grimes will be splitting backfield duties for at least another week.
Fantasy Spin: This latest report throws a little bit of water on Foster’s owners after so much positivity, but there’s much to feel good about overall. For a groin injury that could have kept Foster out until well after midseason, it looks like only a couple of games will be missed as a result.
It’s a best-case scenario for owners who were counting on the Texans’ bell cow to be a boon to their lineups later in the season. But for now, it looks like help will come to their lineups even earlier. Foster will be in line for a workload that puts him in the RB2 category, though in the meantime, his owners will have to remain glued to the Texans’ injury reports.
