Update (Thursday, 1:34 p.m. EST): Per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, C.J. Anderson’s status is “up in the air” for Thursday’s game vs. The Kansas City Chiefs.
C.J. Anderson could share backfield duties vs. Chiefs, fantasy upside remains high
An injury in Week 1 led to an unproductive outing from the Broncos’ lead back. We break down the fantasy implications.

Denver Broncos running back C.J. Anderson wasn't effective versus a stout Baltimore Ravens defensive front on Sunday, and lost carries to Ronnie Hillman due partly to sustaining toe and ankle injuries.
It appears that a time share could be in the cards again, according to Troy E. Renck of The Denver Post. With a short week, and with Anderson at less than 100 percent, Renck said it would make sense for the Broncos to give some of that workload to Hillman, who out-gained Anderson 41-29 in rushing yards in Week 1.
Fantasy Spin: Renck is reading between the lines and coming to a logical conclusion, although it still remains to be seen if this will be the reality. There will be ambiguity surrounding Anderson’s role up until kickoff, and it won’t leave fantasy owners too happy.
Anderson’s upside is still too big to ignore for Week 2, amid an offense that should be treated as a sleeping giant after not scoring a touchdown in the season opener. Expectations should still be tempered since circumstances are not ideal for Anderson this week, but he’s firmly in RB2 territory.
