Denver Broncos running back C.J. Anderson will be active on Thursday night against the Kansas City Chiefs, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Report: C.J. Anderson will start Thursday for Broncos, fantasy owners
The Broncos will deploy their lead back on Thursday night. We break down the fantasy implications.
There were conflicting reports on Thursday regarding Anderson's availability, but the record appears to be set straight now. What isn't known, however, is to what degree the Broncos will use their feature back. Ronnie Hillman split carries evenly with Anderson in Week 1, and Hillman out-gained him 41-29 on 12 carries each.
Fantasy Spin: It’s understandable that the Broncos would want all hands on deck against a formidable division rival, so even with a short week, playing their banged-up running back makes sense.
For fantasy owners, it’s a relief that Anderson gets the nod, but it will be under different circumstances than the norm. He is still worthy of starting this week, but his floor may be lower with a limited workload possibly coming his way. Anderson is an RB2 this week, and should be in RB slots in leagues of all formats.
