Julius Thomas practices Thursday, inches closer to fantasy relevance
More positive reports surround Julius Thomas’ recovery from a hand injury. We break down the fantasy implications.

Thomas also practiced on Wednesday, and has been doing so with a cast on his surgically repaired hand. The newly acquired tight end is not expected to make his Jaguars debut in Week 2, but the fact he has been able to practice, even at a limited capacity, bodes well for his timeline.
Fantasy Spin: Thomas was initially expected back for Week 4 against the Indianapolis Colts, which would be the team's first divisional matchup of the season. It's encouraging to see him practice so far ahead of that week, and it's possible that he takes the field sooner than anticipated.
Thomas' ability to be a threat near the end zone puts him as a high-end TE2 upon his return, but he's not likely to post 12 touchdowns for a third consecutive season. Marcedes Lewis and Clay Harbor will continue to share snaps in Thomas' absence, but neither is up for fantasy consideration.
