Cincinnati Bengals running back Jeremy Hill turned in a cringe-worthy performance on Sunday that resulted in him being benched in favor of Giovani Bernard, who didn't squander his extended opportunity.
Jeremy Hill expected to remain starter for Bengals, fantasy owners
The Bengals’ bell cow had a game he’d like to forget on Sunday, despite his team’s victory. We break down the fantasy implications.

Despite that, ESPN’s Coley Harvey reported Monday that he still expects Hill to remain the starter, citing that there could be multiple factors involved with his benching, and implied his goal-line prowess keeps him in the conversation.
Hill fumbled twice and looked tentative in the open field versus the San Diego Chargers, finishing with just 39 yards on 10 carries. Bernard, meanwhile, totaled 139 yards on 23 touches, but had zero touchdowns despite getting carries near the goal line.
Fantasy Spin: Hill’s fantasy owners can be heard making a collective sigh of relief in wake of this report, but Bernard’s performance won’t likely be ignored. In what was primarily seen as Hill’s backfield to enter the season, Bernard likely made a case for it to be more of a timeshare than initially intended.
Hill remains on the RB1 radar for Week 3 vs. the Baltimore Ravens, but would likely need a big bounceback game to reclaim his stranglehold on the starting lineup. Bernard deserves flex consideration in PPR leagues, despite a tough matchup.
