The Giants are one step closer to getting their longest-tenured receiver back for the first time since 2014. We break down the fantasy implications.


Cruz also dealt with a calf injury during training camp and the preseason, and is unlikely to play before Week 4. However, Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News reports that Cruz has progressed to running on grass after being limited to underwater treadmills.
Fantasy Spin: It’s good news for the Giants’ veteran slot man to be progressing, but it’s fair to remain skeptical that Cruz will ever regain his pre-injury form due to the devastating nature of his injury.
It’s difficult to envision that Cruz will go from just being cleared to run on grass recently to taking the field vs. Washington on Thursday.
Rueben Randle will continue to get the bulk of work in Cruz's absence, but neither are on the fantasy radar for the time being. It would be difficult to justify a roster spot for Cruz in leagues of 12 teams or fewer.
