Arian Foster appears close to making his 2015 debut for the Houston Texans. We break down the fantasy implications.
His return could come as early as Sunday when the Texans take on the Atlanta Falcons, but head coach Bill O'Brien said a decision on Foster's status won't be made until 90 minutes before kickoff, per ESPN's Ed Werder.
If Foster practices on Wednesday, it will mark the third week in a row he practices with his team, although it had previously been at a limited basis.
Fantasy impact: After Joseph Randle and the Dallas Cowboys ripped off huge chunks of yardage in Week 3 against the Falcons, Foster's owners should have their fingers crossed that he can make his 2015 debut on Sunday.
If he does, Foster can be placed immediately in the RB1 conversation as the running back position gets thinner and thinner across the fantasy spectrum.
If Foster is held out, expect Alfred Blue to get the bulk of the backfield duties after his 139-yard performance in Week 3. Jonathan Grimes and Chris Polk would likely be mixed in, as well, but neither deserve fantasy consideration at this time.
