Buffalo Bills head coach Rex Ryan did not exude much confidence in the availability of his starting running back when he spoke to reporters on Monday.
LeSean McCoy ‘doesn’t look good’ for Sunday, could be benched by Bills, fantasy owners
It appears that LeSean McCoy will be rested on Sunday due to a hamstring injury. We break down the fantasy implications.

Ryan said that LeSean McCoy’s availability “doesn’t look good” for Sunday, according to ESPN’s Mike Rodak. McCoy has been battling a hamstring injury since August, and it appears that a week of rest is finally on the horizon after the starting running back attempted to fight through it each week. With McCoy appearing hampered in Sunday’s blowout win vs. the Miami Dolphins, Karlos Williams showed his ability to carry the load in his stead, rushing for 110 yards on 12 carries.
Fantasy impact: Williams was undoubtedly the hot waiver wire pickup for Week 4 in wake of his encouraging performance and with poor reports surfacing regarding McCoy’s health. Hamstring injuries have been known to linger, and it remains to be seen how long it will in McCoy’s case.
If McCoy plays, he can’t be considered anything more than a touchdown-dependent flex option. Williams can be considered a low-end RB1 with upside if he gets the start.
