Update (Wednesday, 2:00 p.m. ET): Victor Cruz felt his calf flare up again during individual drills, the team announced. His status for Sunday remains unclear.
Victor Cruz limited Wednesday for Giants, fantasy owners
It looked as though the Giants would welcome back their veteran slot receiver quite soon, but he suffered a setback. We break down the fantasy implications.

It had been talked about since the start of the season that Victor Cruz would return Week 4, and the veteran slot receiver practiced for the New York Giants on Wednesday at a limited basis.
Cruz will likely be eased into action, however, as head coach Tom Coughlin said that Cruz’s reps would be “gradually increased” as the week progresses, according to Ralph Vacchiano of New York Daily News. It’s possible that Cruz only sees time in three-wide sets this week, and that those formations will become more frequent as Cruz gets up to speed. The practice reports throughout the week will likely reveal Cruz’s status for Sunday.
Fantasy impact: Cruz is recovering from a calf injury suffered over the summer in addition to a devastating PCL injury in 2014 that could have been career threatening. The fact Cruz is able to take the field at all in 2015 is an accomplishment, but it’s fair to wonder if he can reclaim the form he had prior to missing time.
There are still several question marks about Cruz's ability and usage, therefore, fantasy owners would be advised to bench him until these unknowns become "knowns." Rueben Randle and Odell Beckham, Jr. will remain the top target getters in the Giants' offense in the meantime.
