San Francisco 49ers head coach Chip Kelly announced Wednesday that running back Carlos Hyde will not practice Wednesday and that it, “would be a stretch,” for the starter to play Sunday, reports David Fucillo of Niners Nation.
Carlos Hyde likely out for fantasy owners in Week 7
The San Francisco 49ers’ starting running back missed practice Wednesday and may not practice all week. We break down the fantasy impact.

Hyde went down with a shoulder injury in the the third quarter of the 49ers’ loss to the Buffalo Bills. He returned to the game briefly before missing the entire fourth quarter. The third-year back was seen wearing a sling at practice the following Tuesday.
The 49ers face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 7 before their bye in Week 8. There is no word on how long San Francisco will be without Hyde in the backfield at the moment.
Fantasy Impact: Hyde was perhaps the most consistent player on the 49ers offense before he went down. The speedster rushed for over 400 yards and six touchdowns through the first six weeks of the season.
In Hyde’s absence, the 49ers are likely to start third-string RB Mike Davis. Davis held down the backfield after Hyde’s exit Sunday, with 19 more snaps and five more touches than backup Shaun Draughn. Kelly cited Davis’ work ethic in practice as the reason for the move ahead of Draughn in the depth chart, reports Fucillo.
