The Pittsburgh Steelers were not supposed to score 34 points against the Jets last week and the Jets sure weren’t supposed to score 32 against the Steelers. It was a shootout out of nowhere. Was that game a look at what is to come for the Steelers defense or was it just a great game plan with a special talent in Justin Fields at the helm? It’s hard to know, but the Steelers still have plenty of talent, and I expect they’ll right the ship. If they do, it does mean fewer opportunities for the passing game, as the Steelers defense and running game would slow down passing and scoring overall.

Calvin Austin stepped up in Week 1 as the no-doubt No. 2 receiver behind DK Metcalf and put up a good numbers, catching 4-of-6 targets for 70 yards and a touchdown, while Metcalf caught 4-of-7 passes for 83 yards. This week they’ll face one of the best secondary’s in the league against Metcalf’s old team. Can Austin put up another good day?

Below, we’ll go over Calvin Austin outlook in fantasy football for Week 2.

Fantasy Football analysis: Steelers, WR, Calvin Austin

Aaron Rodgers was extremely efficient on Sunday, throwing four touchdowns on just 30 attempts. Last seasons the Seahawks allowed the seventh-fewest net yards per pass attempt and they already intercepted Brock Purdy twice in Week 1. Purdy also threw for 277 yards and two touchdowns, so it’s not like they shut the 49ers passing attack down, but much of that yardage came from passes to Christian McCaffrey underneath.

Start or sit in Week 2 PPR leagues?

Sit. At this point there’s no real reason to believe the Steelers will open up their offense enough to give the WR2 enough work to consistently be fantasy relevant. Maybe when they’re in a better environment for passing, but this game is the lowest over/under of the week at 39.5 and the Steelers are 2.5-point favorites. I expect this game to be low scoring and not high flying.

Start or sit in Week 2 standard leagues?

Sit.
