F1 standings: 2026 Constructors’ Championship

In the Formula 1 world, the Drivers’ Championship fight captures all the headlines. 22 drivers, fighting it out on the track for individual glory and racing immortality.

But that battle can overshadow the fact that F1 is also a team sport, with 11 teams vying for the title of Constructors’ champions.

And the bevy of prize money that comes with that title.

Under the sport’s Concorde Agreement, the teams split approximately 45% of F1’s total commercial revenue at the end of the season, divided based on how they finished in the Constructors’ Championship standings. According to estimates, McLaren took home around $161 million at the end of the 2024 season, when they stood atop the Formula 1 world. That number jumped to nearly $165 million the following year, when McLaren repeated as champions.

In addition to the results in the standings, teams can also secure historic and legacy bonuses at the end of the season, based on their contributions to F1 history, and their results over longer periods. For example, despite finishing fourth in the Constructors’ Championship standings in 2025, Ferrari received the largest payout a year ago, thanks to a legacy bonus as well as a long-term performance reward. While the details of the Concorde Agreement are private, as F1’s longest-serving team Ferrari has carved out a legacy bonus based on its contribution to the sport over the decades.

So while the Drivers’ Championship standings generate the headlines, the Constructors’ Championship standings are where the teams reap the financial rewards of success on the track.

As with the Drivers’ Championship standings, tiebreakers in the Constructors’ Championship work on a countback system. If teams are tied on points, then ties are broken by looking at which team has the most wins. Should the team have the same amount of wins, then second-place finishes are looked at, then third-place results if needed, and so on.

For example, following the Belgian Grand Prix both Alpine and Visa Cash App Racing Bulls had 61 points, but Alpine was ranked higher in the standings due to Pierre Gasly’s P3 at the Monaco Grand Prix, the best result from either team at that point in the 2026 season.
