Fans of Williams who are excited to see Carlos Sainz Jr. make the move to the team from Ferrari for the 2025 Formula 1 season will not need to wait too much longer to see their new driver in action.

They just need to wait until the end of the 2024 F1 campaign.

Williams announced on Friday that Sainz will make his debut for the team at the post-season test in Abu Dhabi, following the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

The team announced in July that Sainz would be making the move to Williams, ending his stint with Ferrari alongside Charles Leclerc. Sainz became the most sought-after free agent on the F1 grid when Lewis Hamilton stunned the F1 world ahead of the 2024 season, announcing that he would be leaving Mercedes at the end of the season to join Ferrari alongside Leclerc.

Sainz is one of six drivers with multiple Grand Prix victories this season. He secured his first win of 2024 at the Australian Grand Prix back in March and captured a victory in the Mexico City Grand Prix just a few weeks ago. He has scored seven podium finishes this season and 25 over his career.
