Max Verstappen earned not one, but two victories on Sunday.

Formula 1’s reigning Drivers’ Champion secured victory in the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix at historic Imola, getting off to a strong start and fending off a late charge from Lando Norris to clinch the win. But before Verstappen took the checkered flag at Imola, he had already won on the day.

In the iRacing Nürburgring 24 Hours.

As we discussed on Saturday, Verstappen was competing in the iRacing Nürburgring 24 Hours with Team Redline, the sim racing team he competes with when he is not, you know, powering an F1 car around a track. Following qualifying on Saturday, when Verstappen captured pole position at Imola, he got behind the virtual wheel to put in a shift with his team:

Verstappen eventually came in for a driver change:

Probably because, well, he had to get to his other race.

While Verstappen was getting ready to take the grid at Imola, Team Redline delivered both a P1 and a P3 in the event, with Verstappen’s squad taking the victory:

Not bad for a weekend’s work.
