The unofficial beginning to the 2025 Formula 1 season is here.

Friday brought to a close three days of pre-season testing at Bahrain International Circuit, as all ten teams put their 2025 challenger through miles and miles of testing laps ahead of the season. The next stop on the schedule? The season-opening Australian Grand Prix, slated for March 16.

However, for many fans the season really begins with the release of the latest season of the Netflix docuseries Drive to Survive. Just as the final laps ticked down on the last few minutes of pre-season testing, the streaming platform released the trailer for Season 7.

As you might expect, many of the big themes wer part of the trailer: Lewis Hamilton’s decision to leave Mercedes for Ferrari, the controversy around Red Bull Team Principal Christian Horner, and the title fight between McLaren, Ferrari, and Red Bull:

“Zak [Brown, McLaren CEO] is a prick,” from Christian Horner is sure to be a point of discussion in the weeks to come.

The trailer also hits on some other themes from the season, such as the slow start to the season at Alpine and the opening-lap collision between teammates Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly at the Monaco Grand Prix, the driver transfer market beyond Hamilton, and even Guenther Steiner’s departure from Haas.
