The 2025 Formula 1 season has finally arrived, with this weekend’s Australian Grand Prix.

But on the cusp of the F1 schedule Visa Cash App Racing Bulls have announced a major change in their leadership structure.

After a decade with the team, Technical Director Jody Egginton is departing VCARB, to take up a role with Red Bull Advanced Technologies as their Engineering Director. He will begin his new role at the start of April.

Egginton began his racing career as a designer with Tyrrell, joining Toro Rosso in 2014 as the team’s Head of Vehicle Performance. He was promoted to Deputy Technical Director in 2017, before becoming Technical Director in 2019.

“Being part of this team for over 10 years has been a fantastic experience for me, providing some very memorable moments. But after almost 20 years of focussing solely on Formula One, I feel it’s time for a change,” said Egginton in a statement from the team. “I will have a great remit as Engineering Director of Red Bull Advanced Technologies and the company currently has an exciting list of projects, so I can’t wait to get started on this new challenge.”

“As our long-serving Technical Director, he has been instrumental in driving innovation and fostering team growth,” said Team Principal Laurent Mekies. “I want to thank Jody for his expertise and the important contribution he has made to the team and the company’s upward trajectory. We wish him all the best for this new challenge within the Red Bull family.”
