At the end of the 2025 Formula 1 season, one of the most productive partnerships in the sport’s history will come to a close. A relationship that began in 2018 between Honda and Red Bull that produced multiple Constructors’ and Drivers’ Championships will come to a close before Honda begins a new power unit partnership with Aston Martin. Red Bull begins its own internal power unit program in conjunction with Ford for next season.
Red Bull F1 to honor Honda with special white livery at Japanese Grand Prix
Honda’s first F1 win in 1965 will be honored by Red Bull at this weekend’s Japanese Grand Prix

Red Bull will honor that eight-year partnership at this weekend’s Japanese Grand Prix, using a bespoke white livery that is a tribute to the RA272, the car that gave Honda its first F1 victory back in 1965:
Red Bull also shared an image of the RB21 alongside the RA272, highlighting the similarity between the two paint schemes:
According to a statement from Red Bull, “[t]he livery recreates the RA272’s iconic Japanese flag motif, featuring the ‘H’ logo on the nose and the simple Honda logo on the rear of the bodywork. A special logo commemorating 60 years since Honda’s first F1 victory will also be displayed across all four Red Bull cars on the grid.”
As noted the Visa Cash App Racing Bulls of both Isack Hadjar and Liam Lawson will feature the logo commemorating Honda’s first F1 win:
Red Bull Team Principal Christian Horner celebrated the partnership with Honda in the announcement.
“Our relationship with Honda deserves celebration, it has been one of continued success and brought the Team one of the most triumphant and dominant periods in our history. Max [Verstappen] has won four World titles with a Honda Power Unit, and the Team have lifted two Constructors’ titles,” said Horner. “In addition, Honda’s reliability enabled it to complete the most successful season in the sport’s history in 2023. This livery is a tribute to Honda’s success in the sport and the final year of what has been a thoroughly enjoyable partnership. I am looking forward to seeing it out on track.”
This weekend will also mark Yuki Tsunoda’s debut with the team, as he moves to Red Bull after beginning the season with VCARB.
