This the sentiment of many, but with regards to this particular conversation the one of the best player on the European Ryder Cup team which makes it interesting.
Rory McIlroy addressed the media on Thursday as the world braced for the 2025 Ryder Cup to begin play on Friday (finally) and was asked what his assessment was of the United States when growing up in Ireland. He noted that it was the dream of many to reach America, that the United States is a land of opportunity, and that he views the country to be the greatest one in the world as noted.
McIlroy is the player of this generation and when he speaks it carries immense gravity. A Career Grand Slam winner, he stands with the greatest players to ever pick up a golf club.
Time will tell how this year’s Ryder Cup will shake out and it goes without saying that McIlroy has great European pride, but ahead of balls launching into the air he made sure to offer his regards for the home nation.
