The Florida Gators and Oregon Ducks emerged victorious at the 2025 East Lake Cup this week as the fall collegiate season came to a close. East Lake is used to holding events to close out seasons and on Wednesday only two teams went home happy.

We are a long ways away from the spring season getting underway unfortunately, but when it does the college golf world would do well to keep an eye on the Gators and Ducks.

On the men’s side of things Florida has a long history of success under coach J.C. Deacon. They took down the top-seeded Virginia Cavaliers to end their fall on a strong note and look like a lock to return to top form in 2026.

The Cup presented a revenge opportunity for Derek Radley’s Ducks. They took on the reigning National Champions in Northwestern, a Wildcats group that beat Oregon in the semifinals on their march to the title a few months back. Wednesday had to feel good in that sense.

College golf offers such a fun energy each and every tournament and this one was no exception. Here’s to what lies ahead in 2026 from these teams and the rest of the country.
