The FedExCup Fall wrapped last week and it was Sami Valimaki who stood atop the mountain at the very end of its final event in the RSM Classic. Posting a score of 23-under par, Valimaki lifted a trophy for the first time in his PGA Tour career.

It was Sami’s 54th career start on tour and he became the 17th first-time winer on Tour this season, the fourth of the FedExCup Fall portion of the schedule. He notably became the first play from Finland to win on Tour in general.

Winning any event on Tour is a big deal, but this was a notable one for Sami in terms of what it came with. He earned a two-year PGA Tour exemption, 500 FedExCup points, and invitations to The Players, RBC Heritage, and the PGA Championship next season. It was a prosperous week to say the least.

Part of what aided Sami en route to victory was the SuperStroke putter grip that he uses.

“Congratulations to Sami Valimaki on his victory at the RSM Classic and becoming the first player from Finland to win on the PGA TOUR,” said SuperStroke Vice President of Marketing Ryan Harris. “He played and putted brilliantly with his Zenergy Pistol 1.0 putter grip to add a PGA TOUR win to his half dozen international titles.”

Sami utilizes a SuperStroke Zenergy Pistol 1.0 putter grip if you are curious and/or want to replicate the make. There are all sorts of players on Tour who are SuperStroke users, not to mention all sorts of golfers all over the world, and they are clearly beneficial on the greens, especially if you are hunting for your first career win.

Congratulations to Sami!
