There are still a couple of weeks left until Christmas Day (get to wrapping), but soon enough the New Year will be here and we will be looking forward to yet another PGA Tour season. Buckle up.

The month of January will bring a specific tournament of excitement in The American Express, this will be the 67th edition of it, and this week it received some impressive early commitments:

  • Wyndham Clark
  • Brian Harman
  • Ben Griffin
  • Rickie Fowler
  • Akshay Bhatia
  • Sepp Straka (reigning champion)

This is a strong list of early names as it features multiple major winners, the surging Ben Griffin, the ever-popular Rickie Fowler, an Akshay Bhatia who is poised to break out even more soon enough, oh yea, and the reigning champion in Sepp Straka. No big deal.

PGA WEST’s Pete Dye Stadium Course (the host course), the Nicklaus Tournament Course, and the La Quinta Country Club will all be a part of the event. This is unique as 156 amateurs will compete alongside the 156 professionals in the field for the first three rounds and each player will have the chance to play each course. After 54 holes the top 65 professions (and ties) will make the cut for the final round at the Pete Dye Stadium Course.

Elite golf is just around the corner. Enjoy the holidays before it gets here, though. They go by fast.
