Chris Gotterup took home the Sony Open and in the process became the fist winner on the PGA Tour this season.

It was a close finish as Gotterup edged Ryan Gerard by two strokes, amazingly the largest margin of victory at the Sony since Matt Kuchar won by 4 strokes in 2019, But Gotterup did indeed emerge as the winner and in the process he earned his third victory on the PGA Tour.

Chris Gotterup career victories on the PGA Tour:

  • 2024: ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic
  • 2025: Genesis Scottish Open
  • 2026: Sony Open in Hawaii

Gotterup has 3 wins in 69 career starts (he is still not even 27 years old) and he became the first player since Tom Kim to earn three PGA Tour wins in fewer than 70 starts.

Notably, Gotterup has won 2 of his most recent 8 overall starts dating back to the Genesis Scottish Open. His game seems to be really coming together which suggests this season will be a strong one for him.
