Jacob Bridgeman had quite the week.

One week after a 72nd hole at Pebble Beach he wanted to forget, Jacob knocked in his final putt on number 72 at Riviera to secure his first PGA Tour victory and did so in front of Tiger Woods.

Bridgeman won the Genesis Invitational on Sunday afteroon, his first Tour win as noted. He was the first player in over 50 years (Pat Fitzsimons in 1975) to win this tournament specifically in his debut. Again, quite the flip from how he wrapped things up along the coast a week prior.

Many believed that Bridgeman was due soon given how close he came at Pebble. His win in Los Angeles always seemed within reach as he had at least a share of the lead following the first three rounds.

Golf can be a funny game in that it can lower you to as far down as you can get right before lifting you up to the highest of highs. In Jacob’s case he was literally as low as the ground at Pebble can offer and followed up with a Hollywood-like ending in both a literal and metaphorical sense.

While Bridgeman won on Tour for the first time in general he also became the first first-time winner this PGA Tour season.

It will be interesting to see who the next one will be.
